Rapidly Strengthening Storms Prompt Warnings for Southern States

At least one person has died and several others have been injured after a tornado ripped through Barnsdall, Oklahoma on Monday night. A rapidly strengthening line of storms on Thursday evening produced several brief tornadoes and prompted warnings for two more states to the south.

The tornado watch area extends approximately 120 statute miles north and south of a line from 30 miles west of Brownwood, Texas, to 50 miles east of Midland, Texas. At least two tornadoes touched down in northeastern Oklahoma on Monday night, causing damage in parts of Osage County.
